Spring in Studio One's After School Arts Academy

We've done a little class remodeling! Check out the classes below and (as usual!) feel free to give us feedback and let us know what classes you would like to see in the after school program.

Our program's first hour always consists of snack time, homework hours and clubtime (crafts and games for those kids without homework). Our staff to student ratio is 1 to 5. Fees: 15 dollars per day with pickup from select schools.

Class Schedule:

Mondays: Dance and 2D Art Exploration

5- 6 year olds take a half hour of Dance with Corissa Johnson, followed by an hour of 2D Art Exploration with teaching artist Annie Goodsill

Kids 7 years and older take 2D Art Exploration with teaching artist Laura Gibson. Projects can include collage, watercolor and more projects that find their foundation in painting and drawing.

Tuesdays: Ceramics!

Ceramics is broken up into three classes! This ensures the class sizes to be small enough so that afterschoolers get the attention they need. As the children get older, the classes and projects get more advanced. Each Ceramics class is over by 5:30pm. Kids usually never want to leave this class early! Teaching artists include Laura Gibson, Phoebe Ackley and Blanka Solytis.

Wednesday: Early day means two classes in one! Also, feel free to sign-up for Kids Can Cook and our Enrichment Plus option (available on Wednesdays only).

Class one:
Alisa Cartner will lead kids 7+ through a fun illustration class!

Doug Calderon will work with kids 5-6 on 3-D Art. Some projects include making bird houses and a collaborative train project for June's After School Art Academy show at Studio One.

4:00pm to 6pm: Kid's Can Cook with Moses La Sabra! Call for more information about registering for Kid's Can Cook, a separate charge from our normal afterschool program fee.

Class Two:

5-6 year olds take Cultural Arts with Alisa Cartner! Each week afterschoolers will learn about a new culture and create a project that is inspired by that culture.
