Students arrive after school from all over Oakland for a quick break to shake off the school day. After snack and homework time, students head off to Culinary Arts class to bang around pots and pans with Chef Traci Hurlow!

Traci Hurlow will whisk kids through a safe and healthy, hands-on cooking class! After twenty years of working in restaurants such as, Bay Wolf, Zuni and Pizzaiolo, she started her own company, Culinary Jungle Gym. Since 2009, she has shifted gears to teaching children the art of cooking!

After snack and homework time, students head off to Clay Sculpture and get their hands dirty with master artist Hue Yang!

Hue Yang was born in Taiwan in 1978 and has lived in America for most of her adult life. Since she was young she has a love for color and form. While a student at San Francisco State University, Yang began a focus on ceramic sculpture. Since that time Yang has developed skills as a potter as well. Yang will lead kids through functional pottery that allows people to make objects that contain humor, and interesting compositions.

After snack and homework time, students mix it up in Mixed Media with Daria Deutschbein, followed by a play break. After break, students act it out in Drama with Lissa Sherman!
